What do you enjoy the most about travelling?
Having conversations with people along the way that teach you something, even when it shouldn't be a lesson.
What was your favourite travel experience of 2018?
Probably our two weeks in Java, Indonesia. It was a mix of great people, stunning nature and temples, and of course the delicious food.
Where are you based in the Netherlands? Any local travel tips & recommendations you can share with us ?
We live close to Rotterdam on an island :-) It has beaches and the beautiful tulip season. Definitely read our Where to see tulips in the Netherlands guide.
What are the biggest upsides and downsides of being a travel blogger?
- Being able to visit the most stunning corners of the world
- Meeting so many inspiring people along the way
- Sharing all the experiences we have with the people that follow us day in, day out.
- Not being close to family when we want to.
- Some think it's an easy job but we actually work 7 days a week at least 60 hours.
How do you generate most of your revenue to allow you to have the ideal travel blogger lifestyle?
Our main part comes from travel blogging and second deals on social media.
How do you find travelling and working together as a couple? Is it hard at times to share your passion and your job with your partner?
It is definitely not hard! While traveling, we just need to be careful we don't get hangry haha. Sometimes, we need a little more 'me-time' so we just have a day for ourselves. Easy!
Work-wise, we both couldn't do what we do now. We make each other's work so much better by giving input or feedback to it.
How do you divide the work between you both? Who is best at what?
Hannah is on the creative side, editing Instagram posts, editing photos for the blog posts.
Nick is mainly on the technical part. Taking photos & videos, maintaining the website, writing travel guides, edit the videos, do email etc.
We both do Instagram Stories and answer Instagram comments & DM's.
What's the first thing you usually do when you arrive in a new destination?
Unpack, check the best nearby restaurants and plan a small list of things we can do.
What are your favourite type of work collaborations in general?
Our favorite is to work with tour companies or tourism boards.
If you could go anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would it be ?
What are your plans and goals for 2019?
Our goal is to start exploring central or South America and document even more from Asia.
