Summary of Tri Lanka
This 11-bedroom boutique hotel nestled in between the cinnamon plantations next to Koggala Lake has a very special and beautiful location. The architecture and design of the hotel is harmonious with nature and discrete whilst at the same time having the "wow" factor, especially as you go up the stairs and reach the infinity pool with its long thin standing palm tree at the end. You can tell that every large and small detail has been thoroughly thought through to create a unique peaceful and relaxing space.
The rates of the suites include lovely breakfasts and unique dinners. What I loved the most is that there is no large menu to choose from as the chef creates the 6-course meals on a daily basis and you simply choose between two options for each course (they will take into account any of your dietary restrictions). All seasonal dishes from the menu are created to mix and match flavours using fresh local organic ingredients. As this is a boutique hotel they are very accommodating with the service times, meaning you don't have to rush in the morning to have breakfast. You can also enjoy a nice lunch by the pool - don't miss out on the Tri Salad and the fish tacos!
The hotel also offers yoga classes, wonderful spa treatments, bicycles to hire and explore the surroundings, private boat tours around the lake and Sri Lankan cookery classes.
This one of a kind boutique hotel is ideal for both couples and friends looking for remoteness, stylish luxury, great service, delicious food and, overall, a unique experience.
